Meet the Bryants

George and Ruth were married October 3, 2001 ~ Ruth having grown up as a missionary kid in Argentina (daughter of Manuel and Mary Nevius), and George in Missouri (son of Earl and Iona Bryant). We both lost our first mates in 1999 and 2000, respectively, and met through the Baptist Bible College, where Ruth has worked at the Library since 1998, as circulation clerk and now secretary/acquisitions/serials, and George, now retired, worked at KWFC radio station (89.1 FM), owned by the college.
Between the two of us, we have 11 kids (with a 28 year age range!), plus grandkids, and great-grandkids! "Our" kids have jobs ranging from real estate appraiser, operations supervisor over the ambulance service of a major hospital here in Southern Missouri, contract painter, childcare, to McDonald's cashiers, Bible college students, discount store department manager, stay-at-home mom, and more. George's youngest son, John, is in the National Guard, and has spent time in Bosnia and Afghanistan. We appreciate your prayers on behalf of each of these.
The only one of our "kids" still living at home with us is Ruth's daughter Carol ~ born 1991 ~ studying for her GED, having home schooled the last years of her studies.George started singing Gospel music at age 8, and was called to preach when he was 17. He has pastored for 35 years in several churches in Missouri, Kansas and California; at the same time, he sang with various Gospel groups, including his own family group for several years in the late 1970's and 1980's. He has also conducted many revivals throughout the Ozarks over the years.
Since 2001, we have been traveling and singing and/or preaching in six states so far, namely Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Arkansas; however, we would be pleased to visit other states as well. George and Ruth and Carol sing some of the older favorites, as well as some that they each have written. Ruth has accompanied many of these on the keyboard, and they have made soundtracks of most of them. Besides these concerts, revival meetings, pulpit "fill-ins," and such through our family ministry, we have had the privilege once in a while of representing KWFC and BBC at various Gospel concerts and local/rural events around the Ozarks. It is a gratifying way to meet and make new friends and spend time with those we have known "for ages."
We would enjoy being able to minister in your church. If you feel led to have The Bryants for a Gospel concert, revival (where we can provide special music each evening with Biblical, evangelistic preaching; we would work with any length of meetings, from weekend, Friday through Sunday, to week-long), missions conference, or pulpit supply, you may contact us by phone or by mail/e-mail, or through our website. We would be pleased to minister to you on a love-offering basis, to help our traveling expenses.
You can hear samples of our music here. Please call or write, or check our website, for open dates. We hope you will pray for us as we minister in this manner, and if you can use us in any way, please contact us.
In His service,
George & Ruth Bryant and Carol Penick
